Photo Facials
Photo rejuvenation is a process by which we use Advanced Fluorescence Technology, or AFT, a revolutionary light based therapy that allows treatment of skin imperfections and stimulates collagen production via the use of impulsed light. This process allows us to address problems such as age spots, small vessels, sunspots, acne, and rosacea. Individuals with these issues can achieve very rewarding results with this treatment modality.
Advanced fluorescence technology is a new light based treatment that utilizes the unused portions of light and converts them into clinically useful rays of light. The result is an excellent clinical affect with minimal risk to the patient. The treatments are safe and effective with virtually no downtime.
The light energy emitted specifically targets the skin imperfections themselves. Most people described the treatment as a gentle snapping sensation with minimal discomfort. Lesions such as age spots will darken immediately and then fade and disappear within 10 to 14 days. Visible veins will show an immediate response and will also fade over 10 to 14 days. It is possible to experience some swelling and redness, similar to that of mild sunburn. This redness disappears over hours to a few days. Any side effects that can occur do not interfere with normal activities and can be covered with makeup the following day.
The number of treatments required to achieve the desired result depends upon the individual. Most issues of pigment will show a dramatic improvement with one session. Spider veins and vessels often need repeated treatments because these issues lay deeper under the skin. The benefits of collagen production for fine lines are also more evident after a series of treatments.
It is important to avoid direct sun exposure, self tanning beds and creams four weeks prior treatment. This will minimize the risk of complications. It is also recommended that a sunscreen of at least SPF 30 be incorporated into the daily regimen.
Very rare side effects such as blistering, scarring or hypo/hyper-pigmentation changes can occur but the chances are very minimal when following suggested treatment guidelines.
Skin lesions can spoil your appearance and they have probably developed so gradually that you just don't realize how good you could look again without them. Book a free consultation and come see how these treatments could make you look younger, fresher, and generally more appealing.
